My absolute favorite portrait studio my team and I have created thus far was for the 2024 GLAAD Awards, where we built a set that nodded to their theme of stars, transporting the subjects into a world of intergalactic opulence. We built a set with a combination of strobes & constant lighting, featuring practical twinkly backlighting (to create real bokeh at a shallow depth of field), a wavy reflective mylar floor, and an approach that mixed long exposure with triggered flash.
